Who We Are
Overflow Gathering Church is a gospel-centered community located in East Knoxville, passionate about reaching the lost and reflecting the love of Jesus. We exist to actively engage our community and the world for the sake of the gospel because we believe the good news of Jesus changes everything. Through the gospel, our sins are forgiven, broken lives are restored, hope is renewed, and we are brought into eternal and abundant life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We’re not just a place to attend—we’re a family to belong to. Our desire is to follow Jesus faithfully, worship Him wholeheartedly, and love people intentionally.
Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — our foundation for faith, life, and everything we do.
God We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, loving, all-knowing, and all-powerful — the Creator of everything and the sustainer of all life.
Jesus Christ We believe Jesus is fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the payment for our sin, rose from the dead on the third day, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He is the only way to salvation and the only name by which people can be saved.
The Holy Spirit We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every follower of Jesus, guiding, convicting, comforting, and empowering us to live for God and reflect His character to the world.
The Gospel We believe every person is made in the image of God and deeply loved by Him — but sin has separated us from God, and we are unable to fix that on our own. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus made a way. Salvation is a free gift received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by anything we do or deserve.
The Church We believe the Church is the body of Christ — a community of believers called to love God, love people, and make disciples. The local church is God’s primary vehicle for advancing His kingdom on earth.
Baptism & Communion We practice baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Jesus, and we celebrate communion regularly as a remembrance of His sacrifice and a declaration of our hope in His return.
Eternity We believe in the physical return of Jesus Christ. Those who have placed their faith in Him will spend eternity with God. Those who have rejected Him will face eternal separation from God. This reality fuels our passion to reach the lost.
Our Priorities: Living Out the Mission and Vision
At Overflow, we believe the key to following Jesus and becoming more like Him is living out our faith through these five gospel-shaped priorities. Everything we do flows from these core commitments:
Living the Gospel
Faith in action every day. We don’t just believe the gospel—we live it daily, allowing it to shape who we are and how we respond to the world around us.
Serving Others
Saved people serve people. Just as Jesus came to serve, we use our time, talents, and resources to meet needs and bless others.
Growing Disciples
Deep roots, strong faith. We are committed to intentional, ongoing spiritual growth—becoming more like Jesus and helping others do the same.
Building Community
Belong, connect, grow together. Life is better together. Real transformation happens when we’re known, encouraged, and challenged in Christ-centered relationships.
Telling Others
Share Jesus. Change lives. We are passionate about sharing the hope of Jesus and inviting others into the life-changing story of the gospel.

Our Team & Leadership
The people leading Overflow aren’t here because they have it all figured out. They’re here because they love Jesus, love people, and are committed to this community. We’re pastors, volunteers, and everyday followers of Jesus who believe the local church is one of the greatest forces for good in the world.
